The Essex Rape Crisis Partnership works from an ethos and approach that recognises and understands the dynamics and impact of sexual violence within an empowering equalities and human rights framework and adheres to the United Nations definition of violence against women.
The Partnership holds the position that many women and girls suffer unfair and unjust treatment in society. Our overall aim is to challenge and contribute to the eradication of all forms of discrimination and violence experienced by women and girls.
Over the life time of this project we aim to build up an evidence base of improving access to services. We will share our learning with other Rape Crisis Centres and partner agencies to achieve better outcomes through listening, learning and responding to feedback. This project will be independently evaluated through the Child and Woman Abuse Studies Unit (CWASU).
The Essex Rape Crisis Partnership is piloting a new approach to accessing services through First Contact Navigators who will offer a personalised approach, act as a single point of contact for the individual or agencies working with them, and help navigate through the landscape of existing provision.
